About Smile Community(2025.11 update)

Q, What is Smile Community?

A, Smile Community is a place where residents of Smile Town can interact with each other.
You can create posts or leave comments based on each board’s topic,
and you can also show off your character’s outfits.
It is also a space where you can promote parties, watering requests, fruit harvesting, and more.

You can check the guidelines for using the community at any time through “this link.”

🆕 With this update, "Search" and "Mention (@)" have been added,
making it easier to find information and communicate with other residents.

 

Q, How do I write a post in the community?

A, In Smile Community, you can create text posts and photo posts.
Follow the instructions below to create the type of post you want.

◆ Text Posts
       1.        Select [Social] → [Community].
       2.        Tap the “Write Post” button at the bottom of the screen.
       3.        Tap the “What are you doing ?” field and enter your content.
       4.        Choose the board/category where you want to upload the post,
then tap [Post] in the top-right corner to publish it.

*Residents below level 15 are limited to 20 posts + comments per day.
*Please make sure your content does not contain anything that may upset other residents.

◆ Photo Posts
       1.        Tap the camera button at the bottom-right corner to take a photo.
       2.        After taking the picture, tap “Upload to Community Board”.
       3.        Select the board you want to post to, then tap [Post].

*Some categories may not allow photo uploads.
*If you select “Public Gallery,” the photo will not appear in the community.
*Photos taken during a party may allow uninvited residents to join your party.
(There is a limit to the number of residents who can join via the community.)

Q, What kinds of boards are available in Everyone’s Plaza?

A, In the November 2025 update, the board layout was changed from vertical tabs to horizontal tab view.
This makes it easier to switch between multiple boards on the same screen.

The following boards are available for interacting with residents on various topics:

◆♡ Chat
A board where you can talk freely about any topic.
Residents share opinions on items, events, new happy bags, and more.

◆♡ Come to Play
A board for requesting watering, fruit harvesting, or inviting residents to parties.
In “Party in Progress♪,” if a photo is attached,
the theme of the party is displayed at the top-right of the post.

◆ ♡ Sanrio Fan Club
A board for residents who love Sanrio characters,
where you can talk about goods, events, and theme parks.

◆ Looking for Buddy Characters ☆
A board where you can post about your buddies,
and connect with residents who like the same character.

Frequently used boards can be added to Favorites.
Tap the star icon (★) next to a board to add it,
and favorited boards will be displayed at the top of the list."

 

Q, Where can I check all board categories?

A, You can view all board categories by opening the menu button (≡) in the top-left corner.
When you tap the (≡) button, the full list of categories will be displayed.

In addition, you can quickly access frequently used main boards
from the horizontal tab bar on the Community main screen.


Q, Where can I set my favorite boards?

A, Open the menu button (≡) at the top-left corner to see the list of all boards.
Tap the star icon (★) next to the board you want to add to Favorites,
and it will be added immediately.
Boards added to Favorites will always appear at the top of the list.

*To remove a board from Favorites, tap the star (★) again.
 

Q, What is the difference between Community and My Feed?

A, Community and My Feed serve different purposes.

◆ Community

Community is an open board where all Smile Town residents
can freely post messages, upload photos, and interact with one another.
There are various topic categories, allowing you to read posts that interest you
or leave comments to communicate with other residents.
Examples include: “Chat,” “Item Board,” “Lookbook,” and more.

◆ My Feed

My Feed is a personal space that displays only the posts you have created.
Posts made here will notify only your followers.
Posts shared in Community will not appear in My Feed.
You can also scroll down on your profile page to see all your My Feed posts at a glance.

*My Feed can display up to 1,000 posts,
and Community can display up to 3,000 posts.
Older posts beyond this limit will no longer be shown,
and the newest posts will appear first."
 

Q, Where can I check the number of ‘Likes’ or ‘Comments’ on a post?

A, Under each post, you can see the icons for Like /Thanks/Comment
along with their respective counters.

- Tapping the icons (Like, Thanks) will add or remove your reaction once, as usual.
- Tapping the number will open a list showing which residents reacted.
- Tapping the comment icon will open the post’s detail page, where you can view all comments and write your own.


Q, How do I use the search function?

A, Tap the 🔍 icon at the bottom of the screen to open the search bar,
then enter your keyword.
       •        A minimum of 2 characters is required to search.
       •        Filter 1: Posts / Comments / Posts + Comments / Author
       •        Filter 2: Search by board category
       •        Results can be sorted by Most Popular or Latest.

*English search is not case-sensitive.
*Deleted posts or posts containing NG words will not appear.
*Older posts are also included in search results.


Q, No search results are showing.

A, There may be no content matching your keyword,
or the post may have been deleted.
Posts containing NG words also will not appear in search results.


Q, What is the Mention (@) feature?

A, The Mention feature allows you to tag a specific resident
in a post or comment.
When you type @ + nickname, a list of residents who can be mentioned will appear,
and selecting one completes the mention.
       •        You can mention up to 10 residents at once.
       •        Accounts inactive for over 90 days will not appear in the list.
       •        Blocked users and deleted accounts are also excluded.
       •        Mentioning yourself will not trigger a notification.

*The mention list displays the resident’s nickname, My Code, profile image,
and one-line status, making it easy to find who you’re looking for.


Q, Please explain the notification features and how to set them in Smile Community.

and freely choose which types of notifications you want to enable or disable.

◆ When notifications are sent

Notifications are triggered in the following situations:
       •        Another resident comments on or likes your post in Community or My Feed
       •        A resident you follow uploads a new post 
       •        A post you commented on, or a post you chose to follow up, receives a new comment
       •        Another resident mentions (@) you in a post or comment

These notifications appear not only in the Community notification screen
but also in the app’s general notification tab (mobile push notifications).

◆ How to set community notifications

Go to [Social] → [Community] → [Notifications] → [Settings].

You can toggle the following items ON/OFF:
       •        Like the post!
       •        Thank you for the help!
       •        Comments on my post
       •        Posts by neighbors I followed
       •        Comments on your neighbor's post
       •        N' mark (new notification indicator)
       •        Mentions about Me

In the search bar at the top left of the Notification Settings screen,
you can enter a nickname or My Code to check notification settings for specific residents.

◆ How to set general push notifications

Go to [Menu] → [Settings] → [Push Notification Settings],
where you can choose which types of notifications you want to receive."
 

Q, Where can I check community notifications?

A, You can view community notifications under
[Social] → [Community] → [Notifications].
If you have notifications enabled, you will receive alerts whenever a related activity occurs.
Tapping the notification will take you directly to the corresponding post or comment.
 

Q, What is the “Post ” button shown under the flower?

A, This feature allows you to quickly share your flower’s status to the community.

After watering your flower, the “Post on [Please Water!]” button will appear.
Tapping it takes you to the posting screen, where you can publish to ""Please Water"" board.
       •        You can post once until a fruit has grown and harvested
       •        The default text “Please water!” can be edited

When fruit has grown but is fewer than three,
the “Post on [Please Collect Fruit!]” button appears for ""Please Collect Fruit!"" posts.
       •        When the number of fruit reaches 3, the button disappears
       •        You can use this button once per fruit cycle (before it is harvested)

This feature allows quick posting without rewriting messages each time—
just tap the button to publish instantly.
 

Q, I cannot create posts or comments.

A, Residents below level 15 are limited to 20 total posts + comments per day.
Deleting a post or comment does not restore the available count.

*The count resets every day at 00:00.
*Once you reach level 15, the limit is removed.
 

Q, Can I edit or delete posts/comments in Smile Community?

A, Editing a post or comment after it is published is not available.
Please check your content carefully before publishing.

However, you may delete posts or comments that you have written.
To delete, tap the [···] button at the top-right of your post
and select [Delete Post].

*Deleted posts and comments cannot be restored.
*You cannot edit or delete posts/comments written by other residents.
 

Q, How do I report inappropriate posts and comments?

A, If you find inappropriate posts or comments, please report them to the Hello Kitty Dream Village management team by doing the following.

- For posts with inappropriate content, tap [···] located in the upper right corner of the post. Then, select ""Report abuse"" and specify the reason
- For comments with inappropriate content, tap [!] located in the upper right corner of the comment. Then, specify the reason
- After reporting, you may block the user who has posted the inappropriate content.

* You can only report the same content once.
* False reporting may result in consequences.
 

Q, What is the icon that is displayed next to an original poster?

A, The icon represents the original poster's current buddy.
*You can refer to it when visiting someone with a specific buddy for watering.

A, The pin feature allows a resident to fix one of their posts at the top of their My Feed. If you click [···] button at the top right corner of your post, you can select ""Pin to My Feed"".
*It is only available in your My Feed.
